Appare udon

Post call udon was very expensive indeed!

Huge bowl of mentaiko cream udon ( he was rather lactose intolerant after that though he enjoyed it )

My udon with tomato and eggs.

Bowls look huge but are manageable. I guess we have pledged allegiance to Tamoya :p

Tamoya udon

This is my second time here- first was with my siblings when I had the extra chewy version and it came dry with a separate dip. It warrants a separate visit as this is on the top 50 list to try ;)

Omg this is the best recovery food after tennis ( perfect after rain weather and improved ground strokes :p ). Raw egg udon ! Tasted oh so fab with the crusted bits of tempura.add seaweed and spring onion for garnish.. The dip is not really necessary cos it tasted too good on its own !!

Out of the tempura we had (prawn, sweet potato, eggplant and pumpkin ) our favorite was prob the last. Sigh an inspiration for our remaining quarter in the fridge :p

Ended the night with Paris masters finals djokovic vs ferrer pity for a déjà vu 2-0. Crabbies ginger beer- this time with strawberry and lime never fails to knock us out :p

Ramen Keisuke Tori King

Minimalistic menu-3 flavors from which you can choose, yet customisable- the noodles consistency, oil and salt. You can also choose from 3 levels of toppings.I had the original , eggs, normal consistency, less oil and normal salt but I must say I liked S's black option. Was slightly spicy and fab with the bonito flakes ( which you can help yourselves too)Maybe when I'm braver I'll choose the green one ( I have a phobia for wasabi).
Love the self service of sides eg the bean sprouts( really massively od on it ), free flow eggs and bonito flakes and chili sauce.
Returned back to hd rds and one pile and a night of babysitting in the angio suite :(

Marukin Ramen

Picked up Chongs and short from sg together before heading down to town...sorry for budgeoning the plans for restaurant week!! Chongs wanted to head to watch Man on a Ledge (vs Hunger games..which i eventually caught with J) hence we went to town and settled for Marukin Ramen (Scotts Square). It was that vs. Delicious - which was the most crowded that I've ever seen it!
Everything here was accessible to me - and there were variations of the soup from Miso to Shoyu etc. 3 of us chose different bases of which mine was the most mild...
Teriyaki Chicken, Rice which was most plain after slurping down the soaked noodles....

Headed to watch the show and thereafter to Blujazz to catch some younguns..day after we realised when we were at TJ beach we should have done the massage instead!! Aging....
